There’s all-day activity tracking (for things like steps, floors climbed, calories burned and sleep), smartphone notifications from your iPhone or Android device, a built-in optical heart-rate sensor and GPS for tracking a variety of activities.

You can customize with more than 1,300 apps, watch face designs, data fields and widgets from Connect IQ store. The Vivoactive HR promises eight days of battery life in watch/activity tracking mode, or up to 13 hours when GPS is switched on. It’s also “water resistant” to 5ATM (around 50m), so you can take it swimming. .

More expensive than other watches in the range but they will help you monitor your performances in great detail. If you spend your weekends and holidays running, walking, cycling, golfing and skiing or a sports enthusiast, this is the only watch you need to buy.
